Board Vacancy Opens at Ripon Consolidated Fire District

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District is seeking applications for a newly vacant position on its Board of Directors, marking the second time this year the district has had to fill an open board seat.

While district officials have not officially named the departing board member, the district's website no longer lists Jimmy Barbour among its current directors. The vacancy announcement came through the district's social media channels, though no reason was provided for the departure.

The district is now accepting letters of interest for the position, which carries a term from May 8, 2025, through December 30, 2027. Interested candidates have until April 9, 2025, at 5 p.m. to submit their applications to Kathy Sikma, Clerk of the Board. Applications can be submitted in person or by mail to Ripon Fire Station 1, located at 142 S. Stockton Avenue.
