Known for her love of making doll clothes and serving as a nurse in the Manteca office of Dr. George Veldstra, Cobie Jessee Hoogeveen, 77, passed away Monday, February 22 at her rural Manteca home.
She was a native of Wijhe, Holland.
A celebration of life was scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, at the Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon.
She and her husband Ed had been married for 18 years with her regarded as a very loving wife and the “best mom” and grandmother with her family and her faith filling her life. As a nurse, she enjoyed helping people in need as her joy. She was involved in many ways both at the First Christian Reformed Church and later at Calvary Reformed Church.
Her first husband Ralph Jessee, Jr., passed away when she was only 43. He had retired from the Manteca Police Department as a lieutenant. They were married between 1964 and 1987 when he passed away. While living alone she later met and fell in love with Ed Hoogeveen spending the following years together cruising, camping, and enjoying family times with their combined families.
Survivors include her daughter Lisa and husband Bob Deruiter; son Marc and his wife Lynette from Minnesota. One sister living in Modesto, Johanna Carvalho, and husband John.
Cobie had eight grandchildren and five great, great-grandchildren.
