According to the State Bar of California’s website, Cain attended St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA, then attended law school at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA and later admitted into The State Bar of California December 15, 1983.

Parkview Christian Estates posted a comment about Cain’s murder on their social media saying “The Parkview family lost a great friend in the violent killing of Board Member Stephen Cain last evening at the Taco Bell in Manteca. Stephen dedicated time and financial resources each month to make sure seniors don’t go hungry. His Law Office was one of our sponsors of our Show & Shine this past weekend. Each month he would give money to buy groceries and did not want any recognition. God knew all the things he did and today he was rewarded in heaven with his Father. You will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to Maureen, Patrick and Kelly and the rest of your family.”

Cain was killed on Tuesday night in the Taco Bell parking lot on Daniels St. in Manteca by 19-year-old Angel Miranda. Miranda was later arrested by Ripon police after trying to elude police in a vehicle he carjacked moments after shooting Cain multiple times.

Miranda has been booked into San Joaquin County jail on multiple charges including suspicion of murder, carjacking and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
