Police Sergeant Retires

The Ripon Police Department announced this on social media the retirement of Sgt. Donald Luthey after 26

years of service to the Ripon community.


According to the department, Luthey's last day with the department was on Sunday, October 25th and his official retirement from law enforcement becomes effective today, Monday, October 26th.


Sgt. Luthey began his law enforcement career with the Ripon Police Department in October of 1994, after graduating from the Modesto Regional Criminal Justice Training Center. Luthey has held several sworn-officer job assignments with the department with his greatest impacts being a patrol supervisor, policy and training administrator, and hazardous materials expert, according to the department's post.
