Ripon police officers are pinning on a new badge in celebration of their department’s 75 years serving the community.
The golden badge encompasses a “star” that all officers first used on their uniforms. The center of the badge touts the seal of the State of California demonstrating the authority of city officers outside their own communities.
The department was organized back in 1954 in the earlier days of Ripon when the community was under 2,000 population.
