The City of Ripon has created a Small Business Assistance Grant Program to help offset the economic impacts from COVID-19.
Beginning on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, small businesses, that have been impacted by COVID-19 can apply for this Grant (certain eligibility requirements apply). Here's all the information you need to know regarding the Grant, including how to apply.
Overview
$3,000 Grant for qualified small businesses in Ripon to cover rent/mortgage, utilities, and payroll.
Business establishments shall mean a physical location of a "Brick and Mortar" business.
Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for qualified applicants.
Eligibility
Must be considered a non-essential business, thus mandated bo shut down by the State of California (only exception to the non-essential business requirement would be sit down/dine-in restaurants).
For-profit entity
Must have 0-40 part-time and/or full-time employees.
Business is located within Ripon city limits.
Valid City of Ripon business license as of March 1, 2020.
Business must be in good standings (no outstanding code violations, delinquent accounts prior to March 1, 2020, etc. Business can cure any non-delinquent violations prior to applying.).
The business has been impacted by issues related to COVID-19.
The business shall intend to remain open for at least the next 12 months.
Business Types Not Eligible to Apply
Non-profit organizations
Real Estate - Realtors, mortgage companies, title companies, etc.
Property management and property owners
Financing Entities - Banks, CPAs, financial advisors, etc.
Home occupations
Office type businesses
Businesses related to the construction industry
Manufacturing that stayed open related to essential services
Businesses that were considered essential businesses and allowed to stay open
Businesses that sublet spaces within another business establishment.
How to Apply
Download the following: Grants Program Guidelines, Grant Application, and W-9
Gather proof of monthly rent/mortgage payment and/or utility bill (bank statements ok)
Submit all required documents via email to cityclerk@cityofripon.org.
Deadline
Applications will be accepted until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
