Stolen Vehicle and Pursuit Ends in Arrest

Thursday morning, Ripon Police Officers responded to the area of Callaway Circle and Augusta Point Ct.

regarding a party that was following a stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the area and attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to yield and fled resulting in a short, 5 minute, pursuit. The pursuit ended when the driver fled on foot from the vehicle on a dirt road in the area of South Mohler Rd. and East Moncure Rd. Officers quickly apprehended the driver, who was later identified as Matthew Delarosa, 43 years of age from Mountain Ranch. Delarosa was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evasion, resisting arrest, and a felony arrest warrant.
