Weston Elementary Placed on Lockdown

Weston Elementary School, was briefly placed on lockdown this afternoon due to a police investigation in the area.

According to the Ripon Police Department, the school was notified by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department at approximately 1:15pm and instructed to take precautionary measures. The lockdown was lifted just 15 minutes later, at 1:30pm.

The police were investigating a vehicle in the vicinity, but it was ultimately determined to be unrelated to any threat against the school. Students and staff were safely secured during the short lockdown period.

The Ripon Police Department reported on the incident via social media, reassuring the public that the event was resolved swiftly and without incident.
